I managed feats of productivity yesterday and am feeling good about the accomplishment. It’s the time of year when late-afternoon thundershowers fill the sky with rumbling clouds and cool off the heat, which makes for some nice hiking.
I scheduled an early August appointment for an assessment under a program called Power that is offered by the cancer center. It’s a highly individualized exercise program for cancer patients that starts with a thorough assessment of things like heart strength, balance, flexibility, etc., and then provides a plan to help in reaching health goals, as well as regular support. My goal is to return to – or exceed – my pre-cancer exercise levels. It will be interesting to see how this goes.
All of these things occur with the never-ending background of our country’s rapid disintegration. It’s all very surreal and often disturbing.
Today is meetingless, and very few people will be in the office. My ultimate goal for the two weeks of bosslessness is to have everything done so that I can finally get to performance evaluations, and I am making good progress. I must remain focused and make the most of the quiet time!
