10/13/16 ftf, wren

Gosh, I am just exhausted all the time these days.  J is feeling the same way, and I’m thinking it must be related to the shortening days.  Then again, perhaps the entire country is being beat up by this never-ending presidential election.  I’ve never liked Donald Trump, since long before he became a political candidate, and the constant barrage of his snarling orange bulk gets overwhelming.

I’m feeling annoyed with the boss at the moment.  We need to hire a project manager for our start-up company, and I found a perfect person.  We met with her on Friday, and I told the boss beforehand that she was already considering one job offer, so if he liked her we ought to make her an offer on the spot.  He ignored my advice, dinked around chasing after other options that were obviously never going to pan out, and now she’s accepted the other job.  This is a time when it takes great fortitude to hold my tongue and not say “I told you so!”

It looks as if the boss will be scarce in the office today, and I have just one scheduled meeting, thank goodness.  The meeting is with some guy who has a big interest in being involved with our start-up.  I feel that he’s being foisted upon us by others at the university, suspect his resume is greatly inflated, and have no desire to speak with him.  I don’t know what we will talk about!

  1. You are so virtuous, wanting to resist the urge to say “I told you so!” to your boss, that’s being beyond kind and understanding!!! That speaks volumes.

  2. How frustrating for you! Hope your meeting with the other person wasn’t completely pointless.
