Just woke up to find messages from friends about someone getting stabbed in Russell Square last night. Eek. How horrible. It seems to have been a random nutter. I got home about half an hour before it happened, which is a bit close for comfort, but there’s not much you can do about these things.

Anyway, the Thing happened! We sold one of our subsidiary companies to another company, which means (drum roll) Needy & Greedy and co will be leaving the building soon. Yesssss!!!! Lots of high fives with Z yesterday. N&G has been particularly N&G in the run-up to the transaction (extra audits, due diligence, legal documents, you name it, we had to do it for him because the guy is so totally useless and yet reaping all the rewards associated with the deal, while we get a big fat nothing) so I can’t wait, but it may be several months before they actually pack up and go. I believe he is still expecting my team to process some payments for him today. Still, I could feel a massive weight lifting from my shoulders yesterday and am looking forward to getting on with the day job i.e. working for a charity which does good things rather than for that awful man who is only concerned about his own pay packet.

Last night G and I went to the wine tasting in Highbury. Uber worked fine, there were several people there who we know and G seemed to enjoy himself so it was a good night all round.

  1. Huzzah for the imminent departure of Needy&Greedy! What excellent news 🙂

  2. Wow! Yesterday was a banner day for you! What a relief it will be when N&G departs! It must have been very unsettling to have a stabbing so close to your home. I hope the victim will be okay and the random nutter has been caught. Another reason to move out of the city!

  3. Oh, gosh, I just saw a news report of the stabbing. That really was scary.
