Today’s meeting has been cancelled – hooray!  I plan to use this meetingless day to complete Feats of Accomplishment, at least five.

One of our research staff left the office last week, and it’s had the unexpected effect of bringing our chatty secretary into my office more.  Chatty secretary has a compulsion to talk which she used to relieve with frequent gossiping with the now-departed research staffer.  It’s quite distracting, and I don’t know how to stop it without being rude.  As boss, I’m sure it’s my job to have a word with her, but I hope it doesn’t have to come to that.  If I ever get caught up enough to do employee evaluations, I could bring it up then.

The election weirdness keeps getting weirder. Yesterday, President Obama stated in no uncertain terms that Trump the Chump is unfit for office.  Meanwhile, Trump went after his own party members, including the Speaker of the House!  Nate Silver is currently giving Trump just a 32% chance of winning.

Here’s a Thing, in honor of SL’s Thing.

  1. As you said yesterday, meetings are just a huge time-suck! Hurrah for cancelled meetings and unexpected productivity time 🙂

  2. So that’s what a Thing looks like! Hurrah for cancelled meetings and for Trump only having a 32% chance of winning, although that still seems scarily high.
