Crumbs, halfway through the year already. What a year it’s been so far. Am hoping the second half brings more fun and happy things than the first!
I’m not altogether sure if G is still in hospital – he was until yesterday afternoon at least, but then his phone ran out of juice and his last message was ambiguous as to whether he’s staying in over the weekend for some scan that’s happening on Monday, or whether they were letting him out. Knowing our hospital’s problems getting patients discharged, it could well be the former. Hopefully I’ll find out more today and if he’s still in there then I’ll go and see him.
Meanwhile, politics continues to be exciting here and I couldn’t believe it yesterday lunchtime when we found out that Boris isn’t standing for Tory leader. What a relief! Theresa May now looks the candidate to beat – think her headmistressy air is just what we need at the moment. She makes the others look like a bunch of naughty little boys. I drifted off in a fantasy of women running the world yesterday – Hillary, Merkel, May, Sturgeon, hopefully Angela Eagle too… bring it on!
