6/1/16 ftf, wren

Welcome, June!  My childhood best friend is coming by with her husband and daughter for a visit tonight.  I’m a bit nervous but am trying to just relax.  Of course, I woke up this morning with a cold.  If it worsens during the day, I think it’s only right to give her a phone call warning her about it so that they can decide if they want to be exposed to cold germs or not.

I had words with an employee at work yesterday.  For some reason, this woman ignores any direction that I give her, which is obvious and annoying.  The specific issue of yesterday is that she just won’t tell me when she’s going to absent.  Can you imagine that this is even an issue?  It seems fairly standard that an employee must notify the boss of any absence, and it’s okay with me if people do this by e-mail, but she repeatedly doesn’t do it and has never apologized when I’ve called her on it.  I hope this doesn’t turn into an ugly personnel thing, but it probably will.  Maybe she can just go away – haha!

It was interesting to read the ftf-er comments about the upcoming EU vote.  It looks as if this one is going to be a real nail-biter.

Anyway, it’s a big meeting day, and I’m taking tomorrow off.

  1. Thank you! 🙂

  2. Hope your friend’s visit went well and the cold goes away soon!

What is it with these problem employees – seems like as soon as you deal with one, another one pops up!
