First the most excellent news: J is now up and about and improving every day. Hooray!
And there was some more excellent news yesterday, which involves a bit of a story. In December, our benefactors gave us a $200,000 annual donation, which they have done for the past few years. We never know for sure if they will give a gift or how much it will be, and I am always relieved when it happens. Just after the first of the year, I noticed when reviewing our financial reports that there were two deposits for $200,000. I notified the development office of the mistake, and learned yesterday that it was not a mistake. In fact, our benefactors gave us two $200,000 checks in December. This is really great news! It takes a lot of pressure off of me as I am getting ready to prepare the annual budget. Hooray!
More snow is supposed to start today and is expected to last the next few days. We will miss a lot of it, as we will soon be soaking up the Arizona sun. Meanwhile, with a completely meetingless day, I hope to finish another 5-7 items on my work to do list.
