Uh-oh…today is another big meeting day.  I have three meetings scheduled – yikes!  At least they don’t run back to back.

Poor J is not too happy with his new job.  It seems as though the boss is an idiot.  I spoke to the boss on the phone this morning, when he called our house at 3:30 a.m., and can confirm his idiocy.  We’re hoping that the boss will soon realize J is perfectly competent to do all the work himself & start staying out of the way at home.

This will be a long day, because we are going to go see Rush tonight.  It’s been ages since I’ve gone to an arena concert.  They usually aren’t my favorite thing, but J wants to go, and I’m sure it will be pleasant.

SL’s FTF, Wed 31st July

Had an unexpected evening with G last night as he had a migraine all day and took the day off work so wanted the pleasure of my company in the evening. We ate dinner in his flat for a change and then came back up here for an episode of Covert Affairs which is an enjoyably trashy TV series starring Piper Perabo. This particular episode saw her character (undercover CIA agent) going to London and made lots of references to “Camden, the warehouse district”. The first time this happened I was quite taken aback as it’s news to me that Camden is known for its warehouses (more music and drugs I’d have thought!) and then every time Camden was mentioned after that it was always accompanied with a knowledgeable “the warehouse district” which cracked us up. Along with the usual thing with Tower Bridge having to be in every scene, even though it’s nowhere near Camden…

Up bright and early this morning as have a meeting. Will be glad when it’s over.

Cate’s FTF Wednesday 31st July

Had a fairly productive day yesterday – did finish a big job so the back log is now two huge jobs and a small job not started. My new bit of kit arrived yesterday, it’s very indulgent and it is for different work – I hope it will be worth it. Today I’m just taking E to playgroup and M is doing everything else hoping to get a lot done, I would love to end this week with a clean slate edit wise.

– First edit V job

– Second edit V job

– final cull / renumber / back up

– Blog SP V job

– Start L job – first edit?

– playgroup

– Emails

– dinner / puree stuff

Moosie Wednesday 31 July

Had an extra day off yesterday which was great – have missed posting though and am about to go and catch up on what you’ve all been up to. It was a good weekend, Sunday we just rested at home and it was good to get caught up on some sleep – I think I had about 4 naps?!! The other days I’ve been getting up fairly early and running and then getting in lots of music practice. I’m feeling a bit obsessed with these two things at the moment and it’s difficult to think about anything else! B has been working late so I’ve been having afternoon naps to try and link up the gaps, then last night his cousin had an 8-hour layover at gatwick so he spent 7 1/2 of those hours with us! I am feeling slightly unhinged!

Today it’s back to work and tonight we have dinner with a group of girls plus the guy who was forced to leave at Easter. I am feeling a bit of pressure to decide whether I’m in or out of this group – it’s the core of my best work pals plus some others who either I find a little irritating or don’t know well and am a little wary of – but I don’t want to rule myself out and missed the last gathering so I’m going to go and make an effort to have fun and get to know people while negotiating alcoholic and carb-laden threats to my current healthfreak routine! I have another loosely work related thing on Saturday and again next Tuesday and sometimes it just seems like TOO MANY PEOPLE ahem.

Ftf:
* make sure M is awake and ready for the airport
* pushups
* morning writing
* routines
* SWIM hopefully this will restore some calm and sanity!
* walk to work, eat breakfast. I downloaded a load of new music at the weekend so that should get me through!

Work:
* should be plenty to do, it’s month-end and there will be payments galore and bank recs and maybe even a meeting??!
* dinner. Remember to switch on social butterfly mode!
* hopefully hook up with B for the journey home and go straight to bed!!

Oops!  I started this morning off by spilling half a cup of green tea all over my desk.  This is when it pays to keep a stack of paper towels nearby.  Fortunately, no important papers were ruined, and my wireless mouse & adding machine seem to have come out of it okay.  It also forced me to clean my desk top.  The tea was a little bitter anyway, so now I have a cup of the most wonderfully fragrant herbal blueberry tea at a safe distance, & I’m ready to roll.

Miss E Tuesday 30th July

Afternoon!

A late one for me as I’m off work until next Tuesday, wheeeeeeeee! I’ve been having a great time just fully relaxing. I’ve read almost all of my favourited articles on Twitter, started to watch Top of the Lake (very good, creepy, atmospheric but I can’t get over Elisabeth Moss’ terrible Kiwi accent…) and slept. Bliss! And unlike the majority of people out there, I’m loving this rainy, gloomy break in the relentless heat, I’m wearing socks for the first time in about a month!

The only downside of the rain is that D and I are off to Dorset for Camp Bestival on Thursday and although I don’t want it to be sweltering, I would rather it wasn’t sopping wet :-/

It does also mean I have some interesting(?!) To Dos for once!

1. Check the tent! Don’t want to get to the site and find we’re missing a piece!

2. Buy supplies. Coffee/booze/snacks/BBQ stuff/water etc.

3. Buy footpump

4. Buy a disposable barbecue or two

5. Suncream? (Weather forecast isn’t too promising…)

6. Get petrol

7. Go through wardrobe to fund suitable items.

8. Get eyebrows done (if I can be bothered)

9. Lunch – am hungry!

Have great rest of the week everyone 🙂
